Monday Night Football in Week 5 features the Cleveland Browns visiting the San Francisco 49ers. The 49ers are favored by 3.5 in a game with an over/under of 47.5. It appears that Vegas is expecting this game to be above the average NFL game in points scored, so I’ll focus more on the offensive stars and less on the defenses in DFS showdown.
George Kittle
San Francisco’s big tight end is quarterback Jimmy Garopolo’s most consistent passing option, with 17 receptions so far this year. The ball gets spread around a lot, though. Kittle hasn’t found the end zone yet this year so he definitely feels due, much like Houston Texans wide receiver Will Fuller V – and we saw how that turned out on Sunday.
Jimmy Garoppolo
Garoppolo has been pretty inconsistent to start 2019, with four interceptions to go along with his five touchdowns. He’s averaging just 15.8 DFS points per game on DraftKings, and is definitely not a player you’d look to play on a full slate. But in DFS showdown, he’s a viable option. Pair him with Kittle in a game where oddsmakers expect the 49ers to score the most. Since San Francisco has a running-back-by-committee system going right now, Kittle and Garoppolo are the most likely options for the most DFS points.
Jarvis Landry
Odell Beckham, Jr., may be the Cleveland Browns’ star, but Landry is right with him stats-wise, with three fewer catches, but 20 more yards. Plus, Landry is a big salary saver over Beckham, coming in $3,200 cheaper on DK, and $1,500 less on FanDuel. Landry got his bell rung against the Ravens last week, but is ready to go tonight. Landry is looking to build on his career-best 167 yards receiving in Week 4. Like Kittle, he has yet to record a TD pass, so he seems due.
Robbie Gould
Gould is a kicker worth rostering (at least on DK) to earn some decent points while saving on salary. The San Francisco kicker costs $3,800 on DK, but he’s $9,500 on FD, and probably not worth the cost there. Gould has eight attempts in three games this year, connecting on six (one miss was from 50 yards, so no real concerns about accuracy). He’s scoring just south of 10 DFS points per game, the kind of tally that can get you over the hump for a big cash in a DFS showdown contest.
