Fantasy owners who drafted the underrated DeRozan are going bonkers after his stellar start. DeRozan averages 27 points per game, which is fourth-best in the NBA. He’s close to his career-high when he averaged 27.3 ppg with the Toronto Raptors in 2016-17.

After spending the first nine seasons of his career with the Raptors, they traded him to the San Antonio Spurs in exchange for Kawhi Leonard. The Raptors went on to win a championship, whereas DeRozan spent three seasons in exile with the Spurs. He joined the Bulls in the offseason in a sign-and-trade deal.

DDR vs Celtics: 37 Points in comeback

The Boston Celtics imploded on Monday night and blew a 19-point lead in the second half. The Celtics were outgunned 39-11 in the fourth quarter. The Bulls stormed back to win 128-114 thanks to clutch shooting from DeRozan. He finished the night 15-for-20 from the floor with 37 points in the victory.

“It was very gratifying to see we kept the fight,” said DeRozan. “We were down big on the road, tough place to play, we didn’t get rattled.”

The Bulls improved to 6-1 on the season with the comeback win in Beantown.

DDR vs 76ers: 37 points, 10 rebounds

The Philadelphia 76ers are tough to beat on their home court at Wells Fargo Arena, which is one of the hardest places to play as a road team over the last few seasons. The Bulls found that out the hard way when they lost a squeaker, 103-98. They tried to pull off another fourth-quarter comeback, but fell short.

DeRozan led the Bulls in scoring once again with 37 points. He shot 11-for-12 from the free-throw line and hauled down 10 rebounds.

“DDR is on fire,” said Bulls head coach Billy Donovan. “But I know he really wanted the win badly.”
