Oddsmakers continue to post Primoz Roglic as the consensus favorite to win the 2020 Tour de France at -400 odds as the 21-stage race heads into the final week of action. Roglic holds a 40-second lead after 15 stages.
After last year’s champion, Egan Bernal, cracked on the ascent of Grand Colombier, Roglic’s biggest adversary lost more than seven precious minutes on the general classification lead.
Roglic saw his Tour de France odds gradually improve last week when he secured the yellow jersey at Le Runs. Bookmakers moved his odds to -140. Heading into Stage 16, and Roglic is now -400 odds to win Le Tour.
Bernal’s odds plummeted to 300/1 after he got dropped at Mount Colombier.

Tadej Pogacar, the winner of Stages 9 and 15, is Roglic’s sole challenger. The fellow Slovenian is now +275 odds to win the Tour de France and pull off an upset over Roglic.
American Sepp Kuss (EF Pro Cycling) finished in sixth place in Stage 15. Kuss sits in 17th place overall in the GC, but he’s more than 34 minutes behind Roglic. Of all of the Americans riding in Le Tour this year, he’s the highest after 15 stages.
Final Week: Alps > Paris
The Tour de France is won and lost in the final mountain stages. Bookies in Europe know the race isn’t over until the peloton leaves the mountains. But for now, only the mountains can defeat Primoz Roglic.
“The Tour is far from over,” Roglic said.
After a rest day on Monday, the next three stages will test riders with three consecutive mountain stages.
The next stage, the ride to the Stage 16 finish line at Villard-de-Lans, includes a Category 1 climb to the top of Montee de Sainte-Nizier-du-Moucherotte.
In Stage 17, there are two HC climbs on the way to Meribel that pass 2000 meters, including Col de la Madeleine and the debut of Col de la Loze.

In Stage 18, the ride from Meribel to La Roche-sur-Foron will have five climbs, including a Category 1 to start and an HC in the final stretch toward La Roche-sur-Foron.
Stage 19 is a mellow ride before the lone time trial in Le Tour. Stage 20’s solo time trial ends with a summit finish at La Planche des Belles Filles.
The final stage of the Tour de France, as always, ends at the Champs-Elysees in Paris.
