Week 4 of the college football season is upon us and features plenty of exciting and, likely, high-scoring matchups.

For DFS purposes, games such as LSU-Mississippi State and Texas-Texas Tech stand out. Consider rostering some of the players from these games and others:

Quarterbacks

Will Rogers, Mississippi State ($7,800 on DraftKings, $9,400 on FanDuel) – The Air Raid system from Mike Leach has paid off in spades for DFS players rostering Rogers. Last Saturday against Memphis, he was 50 of 67 for 419 yards and three touchdowns. This week, he faces an LSU that’s not like the Tigers of old. They are, in fact, one of the worst pass defenses in the NCAA.

Tyler Shough, Texas Tech ($6,500 on DK, $8,700 on FD) – Shough nearly joined the 400-yard club last week, tossing for 399 yards and four TDs on 26-of-35 passing. The stellar week followed two so-so outings to start the season. So, who’s the real Shough? We’ll find out when the Red Raiders take on Texas, but Vegas oddsmakers certainly expect a shootout, as the game has one of the highest over-under totals on the board.

Running backs

Bijan Robinson, Texas ($7.200 on DK, $11,000 on FD) – No. 5 has been getting the bulk of the work for the Longhorns, with 52 carries for 299 yards and five touchdowns in the first three games. He’s caught six passes for 91 yards and a TD, too. He should pile up DFS points in what’s likely to be a high-scoring game.

Dillon Johnson, Mississippi State ($4,600 on DK, $6,600 on FD) – This is a play best made on DraftKings, given the point-per-reception format. Johnson averages just five carries a game, but he’s frequently targeted by Rogers out of the backfield, with 16 receptions in three games for 116 yards. That frequency has led to Johnson scoring 13.5 DFS points per game on DK despite little usage in the running game.

Wide receivers

Deven Thompkins, Utah State ($8,000 on DK, Game not on FD) – You don’t want to pay this much for a receiver very often, but the way Thompkins is filling up the stat sheets, it’s hard to pass on him. Thompkins has averaged nearly 32 DFS points per game on DK through the first three games, with 25 catches for 454 yards and three touchdowns. He’ll face a Boise State pass defense that ranks just 166th against opposing wide receivers in DFS.

Erik Ezukanama, Texas Tech ($7,000 on DK, $8,500 on FD) – Pair Shough with Ezukanama, who’s seeing more than a third of the target share of the quarterback’s plentiful passes. Ownership may drop this week after No. 13’s performance last week against Florida International: three receptions for 28 yards and no scores. But in the other two games to start the year, Ezukanama averaged 6.5 catches for 161.5 yards, with one TD.
