It’s conference championship week in college football, and while the focus will be on the big matchups in the major conferences, I see much more value in DFS among the teams competing in the Group of Five.
Here are six players to consider for your rosters on Saturday:
Quarterbacks
Dustin Crum, Kent State ($8,300 on DraftKings, $10,700 on FanDuel) – Crum has enjoyed a hot hand in recent weeks, passing for more than 300 yards and multiple touchdowns in three of his past four games. He’s also run for five scores in that span. He put up 43.1 fantasy points on DraftKings against Northern Illinois the first time the Golden Flashes played them.
Jordon Brookshire, San Diego State ($5,900 on DK, $6,900 on FD) – With Lucas Johnson’s knee still injured, Brookshire is expected to start on Saturday against Utah State. In limited action this season, Brookshire has put up a solid 16.8 point fantasy average on DK.
Running backs
Jay Ducker, Northern Illinois ($5,600 on DK, $7,100 on FD) – After replacing the injured Harrison Waylee as the lead back for the Huskies, Ducker has eclipsed 100 yards rushing in five of his past six games. That includes the Week 10 matchup against Kent State, which ranks 269th in college football against running backs in DFS.
Nate Noel, Appalachian State ($4,700 on DK, $6,400 on FD) – Another hot runner, Noel has gone for more than 100 yards in three of his past four games. He’s incredibly cheap as the lead back for the Mountaineers.
Wide receivers
Dante Cephas, Kent State ($7,100 on DK, $8,800 on FD) – Pair Crum with his top receiver, Cephus, who’s scored a TD in five of his past seven games. On the season, Cephas has caught 71 passes for 1,022 yards and eight TDs.
Trayvon Rudolph, Northern Illinois ($6,900 on DK, $8,700 on FD) – Besides the stinker last week against Western Michigan (two receptions for zero yards), Rudolph has put up monster numbers in recent weeks, with 32 receptions for 657 yards and seven touchdowns in his past four games. Expect his DFS result during this conference championship Saturday closer to be closer to those games than to his last one.
