Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott is the consensus favorite to win the 2021 NFL Comeback Player of the Year and he’s currently -175 odds over at DraftKings.
Joe Burrow from the Cincinnati Bengals, one of the preseason co-favorites with Prescott to win Comeback Player of the Year, is the closest competition at +800 odds.

Sam Darnold shot up to near the top of the betting board after the Carolina Panthers quarterback revitalized his career after a dismal stint with the New York Jets under inept head coach Adam Gase.
Dak Prescott -175
Prescott entered the season as the overall favorite at +210 odds. His odds have steadily increased each week and he’s currently -175 odds to win the NFL Comeback Player of the Year.
HBO’s Hard Knocks began their new season with a cold open shot of the wishbone scar of Prescott’s ankle. He’s been on a mission to return to his old form. Prescott leads a high-octane Cowboys offense with ten touchdowns, which is tied for third in the league. He also tossed only two interceptions while completing over 75% of his passes.
Joe Burrow +800
Burrow blew out his knee last November and missed the final six games of the season with the Cincinnati Bengals. He returned from ACL surgery and he’s looked sharp, but nothing comparable to Prescott. He has 988 passing yards, nine touchdowns, and four picks. Burrow saw his Comeback Player of the Year odds slightly drop from +700 to +800.
Sam Darnold +800
Darnold looked like a new man while leading the Carolina Panthers to a 3-0 start. He saw his Comeback Player of the years odds bump from +1600 to +800 after an auspicious beginning with his new team.
Darnold is currently ranked #7 in the NFL in passing with 1,189 yards. He tossed five touchdowns and three interceptions, but he also leads the NFL with five rushing touchdowns through four games. That’s one more than Derrick Henry and Ezekiel Elliot, which is mind-blowing yet won’t last much longer. In comparison, Darnold rushed for four touchdowns in three seasons with the LOL Jets.
Christian McCaffrey +1600
McCaffrey dropped from +800 to +1600 after he got injured again. CMAC tweaked his hamstring in the first half of their third game of the season. He wanted to return to action in Week 5, but head coach Matt Rhule made the wise choice to let him rest one more week and let rookie Chuba Hubbard start against the Philadelphia Eagles.
CMAC was the consensus #1 pick in every fantasy football draft, but he’s been a disappointment with only one touchdown this season with just 201 rushing yards and 163 passing yards in 2.5 games.
Saquon Barkley +2000
Barkley was one of the handful of potential favorites at the start of the season. Barkley is a super-talented hybrid running back that could excel in the modern NFL if he wasn’t stricken with injuries and played for a decent coaching staff. He saw his odds tank from +700 to +2000 after a disastrous start from the New York Giants.
Hey, it’s not really Barkley’s fault. The Giants are not a good team under head coach Joe Judge. He’s also hampered with an out-of-touch offensive coordinator with Jason Garrett. If the Giants fire Judge mid-season and promote Garrett to head coach, then there’s a chance Barkley could thrive under their potential new OC, but that’s a lot of crazy hoops you must jump through to cash a prop bet.
