Orlando Pride forward Alex Morgan is set to complete a move to San Diego Wave FC, according to The Athletic. Orlando is shaking up its roster ahead of the two upcoming drafts.
Sources close to the deal claim the negotiations between the two clubs will be completed when the trade window reopens on Dec. 16, following the NWSL expansion draft. It’s not clear what Orlando will get in return in order to let Morgan go.
Defender Ali Krieger and goalkeeper Ashlyn Harris also left Orlando recently, moving to NJ/NY Gotham FC. In exchange, Orlando received a 2022 NWSL Draft first-round selection, a 2023 NWSL Draft natural third-round pick, and $50,000 in allocation money.

Morgan also had brief stints in Europe for Lyon in 2017 and Tottenham Hotspur in 2020. In the United States national team shirt, she netted 115 goals in 190 games.
