Super Bowl 55 will represent the meeting of perhaps the greatest quarterback of all time and his apparent heir when the Kansas City Chiefs take on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Both teams bring the offensive firepower, and provide DFS players with plenty of choices for thier Super Bowl DFS showdowns.
Here are five players to consider for your fantasy lineups.
Patrick Mahomes, Chiefs QB ($12,000 on DraftKings, $16,500 on FanDuel)
Tom Brady may be the GOAT, but by the time he finishes his career, Patrick Mahomes may surpass him. Both quarterbacks are expensive for Super Bowl DFS, and while Brady knows how to win, Mahomes knows how to put up big stats – the quality we most care about in DFS. In their Week 12 meeting, Mahomes passed for 462 yards and three touchdowns against the Bucs.
Tyreek Hill, Chiefs WR ($10,400 on DK, $14,000 on FD)
When crafting your lineups, you may face a similar choice in choosing between Hill and tight end Travis Kelce when trying to squeeze every dollar out of your salary cap. I’d go with Hill. Like Mahomes, he enjoyed a monster game against Tampa Bay during the regular season (13 receptions for 269 yards and three TDs). The Bucs rank just 25th against opposing wide receivers in DFS this season.
Leonard Fournette, Buccaneers RB ($7,800 on DK, $12,500 on FD)
Fournette took over the majority of the rushing duties late in the regular season and has excelled in the playoffs, earning him the nickname “Playoff Lenny.†Brady has incorporated Fournette into the passing game, with #28 averaging nearly four catches a game in three playoff contests, making him extra valuable on DraftKings and its point-per-reception format.
Chris Godwin, Bucs WR ($8,800 on DK, $12,000 on FD)
Brady has looked Godwin’s way often late in the season, with Godwin garnering 28 receptions and five touchdowns over his past six games. He enjoyed a nice day when these two teams previously met, catching eight balls for 97 yards.
Ronald Jones II, Bucs RB ($2,200 on DK, $8,000 on FD)
Two running backs from the same team? In this case, yes. Jones is priced incredibly cheaply on DraftKings for a player who still sees the field for plenty of snaps. While Jones hasn’t caught a pass during the playoffs, he’s carried the ball at least 10 times in every game. One big run or one short touchdown run will easily make him worth that low salary.
