Less than a week after debuting in Pennsylvania on the NBA’s opening night, BetMGM and the Philadelphia 76ers announced a multi-year partnership agreement.
Announced Tuesday, the deal gives BetMGM’s logo key placement inside the Wells Fargo Center, including on the pole pads on either side of the court during 76ers home games. They’ll also get ad space on 76ers’ digital products, including the team’s official app.
“We are thrilled to partner with BetMGM and together create new, engaging experiences to deliver to our 76ers fans,†Katie O’Reilly, the 76ers chief revenue officer, said in a statement. “This partnership will give us the ability to connect with our fans on the digital channels where they spend their time through customized 76ers branded games and activations.â€
On Friday, BetMGM began taking sports bets just ahead of college football championship weekend in the state that’s been breaking its handle month-over-month since August.

While this is BetMGM’s first partnership with a specific NBA franchise, the NBA partnered with parent company MGM Resorts in 2018, making it the first major US sports league to team up with a sportsbook. MGM also has the right to use the league’s highlights, logos, and direct data feed.
Handle Sets Records in Keystone State as BetMGM Increases Footprint
BetMGM has grown its media footprint steadily since hiring chief operating officer Ryan Spoon from ESPN in October. During Thanksgiving week, the online sportsbook announced its entry into the Pennsylvania market, signing a multi-year deal with the Pittsburgh Steelers.
MGM Resorts International’s Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa in Atlantic City also gets the designation as the “Official Away Game Host of the Philadelphia 76ers,†according to BetMGM.
“Our recent launch in Pennsylvania has been incredibly successful, and this partnership is an exciting opportunity for BetMGM to offer 76ers fans unique ways to engage with their favorite basketball team,†BetMGM chief revenue officer Matt Prevost said Tuesday.
BetMGM, touted as the mothership’s savior during its pandemic-stricken year, currently has partnerships with five NFL franchises besides the Steelers, including the Las Vegas Raiders, New York Jets, Detroit Lions, Denver Broncos, and Tennessee Titans.
