Week 5 of college football promises some exciting action, with the over-under for the Ole Miss-Alabama game set at nearly 80. But I’ve set my eyes mostly toward some other contests that Vegas expects to be high-scoring, too, but could be somewhat overlooked for DFS purposes.
Consider these six players for your lineups this week:
Quarterbacks
Connor Bazelak, Missouri ($7,300 on DraftKings, $8,800 on FanDuel) – In the early going, No. 8 for the Tigers is averaging a cool 300 yards passing per game, chucking the ball nearly 40 times per contest. Oddsmakers predict a lot of points in the Missouri-Tennessee game, and Bazelak is pretty cheap here in the QB slot.
Kedon Slovis, USC ($7,100 on DK, Game not on FD) – After leaving the Washington State game early with injury, Slovis came back the next week strong against Oregon State, completing 31 of 49 passes for 355 yards and a touchdown. The Trojans face an anemic Colorado Buffaloes team this week.
Running backs
Bijan Robinson ($8,700 on DK, $11,500 on FD) – Robinson’s 137 yards against Texas Tech on Saturday represented his third 100-yard rushing game on the young season. He has also scored seven TDs in four games (five rushing and two receiving). Robinson should be in line for another big game against TCU, which ranks 148th against opposing running backs in DFS.
Jabari Small, Tennessee ($4,400 on DK, $6,800 on FD) – After missing a week, Small carried 11 times for 59 yards for a touchdown and caught one pass for 22 yards against Florida. He is part of a timeshare with Tiyon Evans, but is cheaper and gets almost as many touches.
Wide receivers
Drake London, USC ($8,500 on DK, Game not on FD) – I don’t often pay up this much for receivers, but London has a special season going. He’s caught 39 passes for 540 yards and three touchdowns in four games as Slovis’ favorite target.
Jahleel Billingsley, Alabama ($3,600 on DK, $6,000 on FD) – Now out of Coach Nick Saban’s doghouse, Bama’s top tight end caught five passes for 105 yards and a TD last week against Southern Miss after scant playing time the first two games. A former kick returner, Billingsley could easily smash value at his low salary in what’s expected to a be a high scoring game between the Tide and Ole Miss.
